Planning a trip to thailand to stay in authentic wooden hut nr beach

At the mo I have narrowed it down to only one hut that looks like what im looking for at kOH sAMUI, tHAILAND. My partner was told it was the best island to go to thats accessible to Bangkok etc. He wanted to go to Phuket, but thats not the `in` place to go, I have found. After searching the net. To me Chang Mai and Krabi are the top of the list. With the North for it`s mixed culture-Temples, National Parks (Saen Lake) by train.
Can anyone find me old fashioned Thai bungalows in Koh Samui please? that arent on a Spa resort costing around £100 a nite?
